Blizzard (according to the National Weather Service): Winds need to reach sustained speeds or frequent gusts of 35 m.p.h. or greater, and visibilities have to be repeatedly reduced to 1/4 mile or less by falling and/or blowing snow for a period of at least three hours.
With Nutcracker rehearsal cancelled and the Choir Boy concert cancelled we stayed in by the fire, did our weekly cleaning, shoveled snow, strung popcorn and cranberry garlands and baked gingerbread cookies. I wish we had blizzards more often!
