My daughter and I have returned from the European Tour and are happily but thoroughly exhausted. My jet lag is responding well to extra hours of sleep in my own bed, a tall cup of coffee, and ice water - all things that are hard to come by in Europe!
Just as soon as I finish five loads of laundry and going through 1,000 photos I will be ready to begin sharing the highlights of the trip with you. In the meantime I need to emerge from the cocoon of my bedroom and feed my children some pancakes and the jam that I lifted from an Austrian breakfast buffet.
In short, it was a delightfully brisk and appetizing tour that whet my appetite to return to the EU asap. Traveling with a group of such well-mannered, well-educated, well-travelled, well-to-do, bi and tri-lingual kids and adults also infused me with some ideas and motivation to implement as we make plans for the next school year.
Off to serve German pancakes followed by some Mozart balls for dessert . . .
